Rotary honors area students at 49th Annual Honors Night

Monday evening, the Rotary Club of Bellefontaine celebrated academic achievement across Logan County during its 49th Annual Honors Night, held at Bellefontaine High School.

More than 260 students from Indian Lake High School, Bellefontaine High School, Benjamin Logan High School, Riverside High School, Calvary Christian School, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, and West Liberty-Salem High School were honored during the ceremony.

The evening included remarks about Rotary’s mission of service and recognition of student leadership.

Robert Nicholson

The featured speaker was Robert Nicholson, CEO of Safe and Secure Healthcare, who spoke about how students have a 4th option when choosing their path for the future, Entrepreneurship.

Traditionally, seniors pick one of three paths when they are preparing for their future: Education, Enlistment, or Employment.

This is known at schools across the county as the “3 E’s”.

Rotary leaders guiding the organization include Board President Ted Dennis, President-Elect Nita Wilkinson, Vice President Becky Hoffman, Secretary Tammy Gump, Treasurer Bill Boy, and Immediate Past President Andrea Merrin.

Indian Lake High School

The program included welcoming remarks, information about Rotary’s mission of service, presentation of honors certificates, and scholarship awards.

This year, 84 students applied for scholarships, making it one of the largest applicant pools in the club’s history.

With participation from seven schools and career programs, the 49th Annual Honors Night once again showcased the strong academic talent and community commitment among local students.
