A 50-year-old Bellefontaine man is facing a felony drug charge after a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.
According to a report from the Bellefontaine Police Department, officers stopped a white Chevrolet pickup truck on South Main Street after noticing the driver make a lane change and a turn without signaling the required distance in advance.
The driver was identified as Bellefontaine resident Kyle Warren.
During the stop, officers spoke with Warren and his passenger.
Police say the passenger alerted officers to a methamphetamine pipe inside the truck and pointed it out.
A search of the vehicle also uncovered a small bag containing a white powdery substance wrapped in aluminum foil in the center console area.
Warren was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.
According to the report, Warren told officers the meth pipe and the white powder were not the passenger’s, but he refused to identify the substance, only stating that it was not fentanyl.
After the arrest, a mobile drug detection test conducted at the Bellefontaine Police Department indicated the white powder tested positive for methamphetamine.
