Summer roadwork continues across Logan County

Road construction season is in full swing across Logan County, and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is reminding drivers to expect lane closures, delays, and detours throughout the county as several major projects continue.

Crews are currently wrapping up work on State Route 47, where drivers can expect daytime lane restrictions between County Road 35 and Township Road 21A.

That stretch will see reduced lanes from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. through Friday, June 13, as final work is completed on a recent bridge replacement.

Another long-term closure is underway on State Route 273, which is down to one lane between Oakridge Drive and Shady Lane as part of a bridge replacement project.

A temporary traffic signal is in place to manage flow, and the work is expected to continue through Friday, July 18.

On U.S. Route 33, resurfacing work is causing lane restrictions between State Route 540 and State Route 117.

Although traffic will be maintained in both directions, drivers should be prepared for potential slowdowns between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m..

This project began in April and will continue through July.

Additional paving projects are also affecting several other state routes throughout the county:

  • State Route 273, between U.S. Route 68 and the Union/Logan County Line, will be reduced to one lane intermittently from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. through September. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic.
  • State Route 274 will see similar lane restrictions between U.S. Route 68 and Sandusky Street during the same hours and time frame.
  • State Route 292, from Hamilton Street to State Route 47, will also experience single-lane closures as repaving continues.

All scheduled work is weather-dependent.

ODOT is encouraging drivers to slow down in work zones, follow all posted signs, and allow for extra travel time.
