A 19-year-old Lakeview man suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon after his vehicle ran off Township Road 221 outside of Huntsville and landed in a creek.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Michael Vasquez was driving a 2006 Acura MDX when he was looking at his GPS. Vasquez told troopers he was unfamiliar with the roadway before the vehicle ran off the left side of the road and into the creek.
Vasquez suffered minor injuries but refused medical transport. He was cited for a marked lanes violation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash.
The Logan County Hazmat Team also responded after the vehicle began leaking fluids into the creek. The team contained the leaking fluids.
The Logan County Engineer’s Office responded to cone off the area where the guardrail was damaged.
Tops Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the area until the damaged guardrail is replaced.
