The Third District Court of Appeals has upheld the convictions and sentence of a Logan County man found guilty of multiple sex-related offenses involving minors.

In a decision released Monday, the appellate court affirmed the conviction of Steven A. Fulmer Jr., who was found guilty by a Logan County jury in October 2024.

Fulmer appealed the verdict, arguing that the evidence presented at trial was insufficient, that the jury’s verdict was against the weight of the evidence, and that the trial court made several legal errors during the proceedings.

A three-judge panel reviewed the case and unanimously rejected all seven assignments of error raised in the appeal.

The court found that the testimony presented during the trial provided sufficient evidence to support the convictions and ruled that the jury was in the best position to evaluate the credibility of witnesses.

The appellate court also upheld the admission of interviews conducted through a Child Advocacy Center, finding they were properly used for medical diagnosis and treatment purposes.

Judges further determined that the trial court acted appropriately in handling issues that arose during the trial and sentencing process.

After reviewing the record, the court affirmed the judgment of the Logan County Common Pleas Court, leaving Fulmer’s convictions and sentence in place.

The decision was issued June 8 by Judges Mark Miller, William Zimmerman, and Juergen Waldick.
