Two Urbana residents were arrested Friday night after a traffic stop in Logan County led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl.
According to authorities, Washington Township Police conducted a traffic stop around 8:40 p.m. on State Route 708 at U.S. Route 33 for a traffic light violation.
Police identified the driver as 60-year-old Charles Miller of Urbana.
The passenger was identified as 65-year-old Annette Keller, also of Urbana.
While speaking with the duo, officers noticed several signs of possible drug use.
Miller consented to a search of his person, and officers found a clear plastic bag containing fentanyl in his pocket.
According to the report, Miller also admitted there was additional fentanyl inside his wallet, which officers later recovered.
A probable cause search of the vehicle was then conducted.
During the search, officers discovered a blue tin containing fentanyl near Keller’s belongings.
Miller and Keller were both taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Each was charged with possession of drugs.
