Wednesday storms bring hail and flooding

Wednesday evening, a fast-moving line of thunderstorms swept through Logan County, bringing brief but intense weather impacts to the area.

The storms produced around one inch hail in some areas and led to localized flooding, particularly affecting Huntsville, Russells Point, and Lakeview.

One of the most significant trouble spots was along State Route 366, where heavy rainfall quickly overwhelmed drainage systems and caused water to cover portions of the roadway.

Drivers encountered hazardous conditions, with water pooling over the pavement in low-lying sections.

Local officials are reminding motorists to use caution during and after storms and to exercise caution due to the danger of driving through flooded roadways.

Even shallow-looking water can be deeper and more powerful than it appears, and can quickly sweep vehicles off course.
