Bellefontaine volleyball traveled to Riverside Saturday for a program day matchup, with the Lady Chiefs earning a varsity sweep while also picking up wins at the seventh- and eighth-grade levels. Riverside earned the JV victory.

Varsity
The varsity Lady Chiefs swept Riverside 3-0, winning 25-12, 25-14 and 25-21 to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Bellefontaine’s serving game was a major factor throughout the match. The Chiefs consistently put pressure on Riverside from the service line, while mistakes by the Pirates in passing and serve receive allowed Bellefontaine to build momentum and create separation.
Riverside battled back in the third set, keeping the score much closer, but Bellefontaine made the plays late to complete the sweep.
Jillian Ullom led the Chiefs with 21 digs and two aces, while Ava Layman had nine kills, nine digs and three aces. Presley Vigansky directed the offense with 23 assists and added 11 digs and two aces.
Arianna Rangel recorded three kills, eight digs and four aces, while Lexey Brown added six kills and a solo block. Alayna Boyd contributed three kills, five digs and two aces.
For Riverside, Kara Klingler finished with 11 assists, while Valerie Knight had three kills and two blocks. Emilee Robinson led the Pirates with 15 digs, and Bella Robinson added eight digs. Molly Carman recorded three aces.
JV
Riverside’s JV team earned a 2-0 victory over Bellefontaine, winning both sets 25-18.
Ellie Zwiebel led the Pirates with 10 assists and five aces. Bella Robinson added seven digs, while Lily Jackson had six digs. Addison Shoe, Madison Schindewolf and Rolissa Foreman each recorded three kills.
For Bellefontaine, Rosie Lightle was 13-for-13 serving with five aces and six assists. Gianna Davis added two kills, two aces and five digs, while Brookelyn Oaks had eight digs.
Eighth Grade
Bellefontaine’s eighth-grade team also picked up a sweep, defeating Riverside 25-3, 25-10.
The Chiefs dominated from the service line, recording 25 aces in the two-set victory. Skylar Phan led the way with 17 aces, three digs and a kill.
Alivia Rogan added three kills and three aces, while Arianna Rumer had five aces and two assists. Evie Schmidt contributed three assists and Braelynn Neer added two kills.
Seventh Grade
The seventh-grade Chiefs completed the program sweep with a 25-8, 25-7 victory over Riverside.
Bexley Daring led Bellefontaine with seven digs and 12 aces, while Brooklyn Mosley recorded four kills and two aces. Emma Layman added four assists and five aces, and Devyn Hogan finished with two kills, two assists, two digs and two aces.
Bellefontaine will return home Monday to host Wapakoneta. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
