Local high school boys’ golf teams were back on the course Monday, with Triad and Benjamin Logan competing in nine-hole matches.
Mechanicsburg 161, Triad 199
Mechanicsburg defeated Triad 161-199 Monday at Urbana Country Club.
Despite the team loss, Triad senior Cohen Millice led all golfers with an impressive 35 on Senior Night.
Carson Jackson shot a 49 for the Cardinals, followed by Hayden Sheppeard with a 57 and Colton Mullin with a 58. Alearic Trommer added a personal-best 67.
For Mechanicsburg, senior Maxwell Popovich led the Indians with a 38, followed by senior Mason Bandy with a 39. Ryder Buxton shot a 41, while Elliott Moore finished with a 43 to round out the four scoring rounds.
MJ Blose added a 49, and Doug Violet finished with a 52.
Triad will return to action next Tuesday at Woodland Golf Club.
Shawnee 187, Benjamin Logan 209
Benjamin Logan fell to Shawnee 187-209 Monday in a nine-hole match at Reid Park.
Drake Newland led the Raiders with a 48, followed by senior Keegan Lacher with a 49. AJ Bergman shot a 53, while Joel Johnson and Colson Knight each finished with a 59.
Dane Reffner rounded out the Benjamin Logan lineup with a 67.
Shawnee was led by Camren Aker with a 43, followed by Zane Peterson with a 47 and Nash Williams with a 48. Easton Krouse added a 49.
The Raiders will continue their season Tuesday.
