It was a standout stretch for local middle school track and field teams, with both Bellefontaine and Benjamin Logan delivering impressive performances and bringing home team hardware.
Bellefontaine – London Invitational
The Bellefontaine girls captured first place at the London Invitational, powered by a dominant showing from Gianna Davis, who won the 200 and 400-meter races and added a third-place finish in the 100. Kylie Lowe added a win in the 1600 and placed fourth in the 800, while Skylar Rutherford turned in a strong all-around effort with third-place finishes in the 200 and 400 and fifth in the 100. Jazmin Nelson contributed with a third-place finish in high jump and fifth in the 100 hurdles, while Skylar Phan also scored in the hurdles.
The Chieftains showed strength in the field events, led by Annie Gallaway, who placed second in shot put and third in discus. Braelynn Neer added a fourth-place finish in shot put, while Nya McGinnis placed fifth in discus. Ellijana Bosiljevac contributed in multiple events with a fifth-place finish in high jump and seventh in long jump.
Bellefontaine’s relay teams added key points across the board, including a third-place finish in the 4×800 (Gemma Rutan, Brookelyn Oaks, Gallaway, Lowe) and a fourth-place finish in the 4×400 (Nelson, Natalee Kuhns, Rutan, Oaks). The 4×100 (Kiser Jones, Alejandra Meregote, Bosiljevac, Kuhns) and 4×200 (Kuhns, Jones, Meregote, Phan) teams also placed, showcasing the team’s depth.
On the boys side, Bellefontaine claimed the team title at the London Invitational in a competitive nine-team field. Jackson Maus led the distance events with a first-place finish in the 1600 and second in the 800, while Bennett Lang won the pole vault and added a fourth-place finish in the 800. Camden Vollrath added a sixth-place finish in the 1600.
In the sprints and hurdles, William Jenkins placed third in the 110 hurdles and contributed to multiple relay teams, while William Robb took second in the 200 hurdles and fifth in long jump. Jax Fleming added a third-place finish in the 200 hurdles, and Nolan Parmer placed fifth in the 200 dash. Broxtyn Emrick contributed across three events, placing second in high jump and seventh in both the 100 and 400, while Peydon Nicely added a sixth-place finish in the 400.
The Chieftains were strong in the field events as well, with Ean Fultz winning discus and placing third in shot put. Beau Gibson added a sixth-place finish in shot put, while Isaac Merrin placed sixth in discus and Carson Penhorwood finished seventh in pole vault.
Bellefontaine’s relay teams were crucial to the team title, with the 4×800 (Lucas Lin, Lang, Vollrath, Daniel Campbell) and 4×200 (Fleming, Jenkins, Caleb Hudson, Parmer) both placing second. The 4×100 (Fleming, Robb, Hudson, Parmer) and 4×400 (Gibson, Jenkins, Nicely, Fultz) each took third.
Benjamin Logan – Indian Lake Quad Meet
Meanwhile, the Benjamin Logan boys dominated the Indian Lake Quad Meet, scoring 162 points to take first place. Event winners included Kellen Woodruff in the 110 hurdles, Nevada Coleman in the 200 hurdles, Quinn Kuba in the 800, Carter Crumm in the 400, and Bentley Hatmaker in discus. The 4×800 relay team of Cayde Buck, Owen Marshall, Marshall Elliott, and Kuba also claimed first.
The Raiders’ depth was evident throughout, with second-place finishes from Cayde Buck in the 200 hurdles, Marshall Elliott in the 1600, and the 4×200 relay team of Hayes Boysel, Crumm, Coleman, and Stone Angles. Third-place finishes came from Stone Angles (200), Bentley Harrat (1600 and 800), Crumm (110 hurdles), Coleman (long jump), and Hatmaker (shot put), along with the 4×400 and 4×100 relay teams.
Additional scoring came from Carter Nangle (4th, discus), Brayden Sims (5th, 100), and sixth-place finishes by Stone Angles (high jump), Bentley Lewis (long jump), and Woodruff (400). Zayden Wilson added a seventh-place finish in high jump.

The Benjamin Logan girls also delivered a strong performance at the Indian Lake Invitational, finishing runner-up with 132 points. Pippa Zvansky led the way with wins in both the 400 and 200 hurdles and was part of the winning 4×200 relay team with Isabella Wohlgamuth, Adelia Leonard, and Della Baker.
The Lady Raiders added multiple top finishes, including Carolyn Wickline placing second in the 100 hurdles and fifth in the 200 hurdles, Juliana Chapman taking second in shot put and fifth in discus, and Isabella Wohlgamuth finishing second in long jump and third in the 100 dash.
Additional contributors included Kaleigha Alig (3rd, 100 hurdles), Della Baker (3rd, 200; 6th, 100), and Adelia Leonard (4th, 200; 5th, 400). Audrey Kuba added a fourth-place finish in high jump, while Amelia Marmon placed sixth in high jump.
Relay teams continued to score valuable points, with the 4×400 (Alexa Fry, Kali Shirk, Kennedy Hannah, Alig) placing second, the 4×800 finishing fourth, and the 4×100 team adding a fifth-place finish.

With strong individual performances, relay success, and depth across nearly every event, both Bellefontaine and Benjamin Logan middle school programs continue to build momentum and establish themselves among the top teams in the area this season.
