The Bellefontaine 8th grade girls volleyball team picked up a hard-fought three-set victory over a tough Minster team, winning 25-20, 13-25, 25-16.
The Chieftains came out strong in the opening set, using solid serving and steady play to take a 25-20 victory and grab an early lead in the match.
Minster answered in the second set, taking control and earning a 25-13 win to even the match at one set apiece.
Bellefontaine responded in the deciding third set, putting together a strong all-around performance to close out the match with a 25-16 victory.
Skylar Phan led the Chieftains from the service line with seven aces and also paced the team defensively with nine digs.
Alivia Rogan led Bellefontaine with five kills, providing an offensive spark throughout the match.
Arianna Rumer contributed five assists to help set up the Chieftains’ attack, while Braelynn Neer added five aces and four kills in a strong all-around performance.
Bellefontaine’s ability to respond after dropping the second set proved to be the difference, as the Chieftains regrouped and finished strong to secure the three-set win over Minster.
