The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association has announced its annual scholarship recipients, recognizing two local high school seniors for both their academic achievement and connection to the sport of basketball.

The $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year to students whose parent or parents are active members of the association, highlighting families dedicated to high school athletics across the state.

This year’s winners include Patrick Stolly of Bellefontaine High School, who received the Joseph Petrocelli Scholarship, and Alexandra Dixon of Urbana High School, who was awarded the Walter Harrop Scholarship. Both scholarships are named in honor of individuals who made lasting contributions to high school basketball in Ohio, reflecting the OHSBCA’s mission to support student-athletes on and off the court.

In addition to their involvement through family ties to coaching, recipients are typically selected based on a combination of academic performance, character, and participation in school and community activities.

Both students will be formally recognized during the OHSBCA North-South All-Star Game at Olentangy Liberty High School on Friday, April 24, where they will receive their scholarships along with plaques commemorating the honor. The annual event brings together some of the top graduating players from across Ohio while also celebrating excellence within the state’s basketball community.
