Falcons fall to Waynedale in state championship game

The Graham Falcons did all they could Sunday night, but it wasn’t enough as the Golden Bears of Waynedale shut the Falcons’ offense down, winning the D5 state championship 3-0.

It was the first time since May 9th that the Falcons were unable to cross the plate.

Waynedale got on the board in the second inning after Josh Yoder doubled in a run.

The Golden Bears added 2 more in the 5th inning to seal the deal.

Hayden Van Hoose started the game for Graham, allowing three hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking one.

Logan Troyer stepped on the hill first for the Golden Bears.

The southpaw allowed five hits and no runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking one.

Dylan LaFollette, Owen Powell, Jack Traylor, Zach Wheeland, and Holden Dunham each collected hits for the Falcons.

Graham ends the season with an impressive record of 24-12.
