Wittenberg University senior defensive back Luke Jackson (DeGraff, OH / Indian Lake) has been named to the 2025 Division III Academic All-America Football Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), earning second-team honors as the lone Wittenberg student recognized.
Jackson, a sport management major, boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.88 while excelling on the field. During the past season, he recorded 109 total tackles — 49 solo and 60 assisted — averaging 10.9 tackles per game across all ten contests. He led the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in all four tackling categories and was one of four Wittenberg Tigers to earn All-NCAC honors, the only Tiger named to the first team.
Before Wittenberg, Jackson played football at Indian Lake High School, where he earned CBC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-CBC honors as a senior, along with Southwest District and State recognition. He also earned First Team All-CBC as a junior and Special Mention as a sophomore.
Earlier this month, Jackson was recognized as an Academic All-District Football honoree and advanced as a finalist to the national Academic All-America ballot, voted on by CSC members.
Jackson is the first Wittenberg football player to earn Academic All-America honors since Donald Helfelfinger in 2018 and becomes the 54th Tiger to receive the distinction since the program’s first selection in 1952.
