Area boys basketball teams were in action Friday night with multiple CBC and conference matchups across the area, highlighted by wins from Indian Lake and West Liberty-Salem.
Urbana 61, Bellefontaine 46
Urbana defeated Bellefontaine Friday night in a CBC matchup, pulling away in the second half for a 61–46 victory.
The game was back-and-forth throughout the first half as both teams showcased strong offensive play. The Hillclimbers turned up the defensive intensity after halftime, forcing turnovers that led to transition baskets and proved to be the difference.
Two Bellefontaine players reached double figures:
Jair Mundy: 17 points, 7 rebounds
Grayson Lotts: 11 points
For Urbana, Kadin Underwood led all scorers with 17 points. Grady Lantz added 14, and Drew Dixon chipped in 12 for the Hillclimbers.

AJ Conaway led the Chiefs with 11 points.
Freshmen – Urbana 57, Bellefontaine 32
Matthew Dearwester and Tyrin Johnson each scored nine points for Bellefontaine.
The Chieftains return to action Tuesday night as they host Shawnee in another CBC matchup.
Indian Lake 63, Graham 31
Indian Lake picked up a convincing win Friday night, defeating Graham 63–31.
Brodey Reisinger led the Lakers with 20 points, while Avery Pequignot added 14. Cooper Hall finished with 13 points, and Tyler Tidwell chipped in 11.
Junior Varsity – Indian Lake 45, Graham 24
Rush Hurley led the Lakers with 15 points.
North Union 65, Benjamin Logan 54
The Benjamin Logan Raiders traveled to North Union on Friday night and fell 65–54.
Roman Maxwell led the Raiders with 14 points and seven rebounds. Christian Rogan finished with 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Maddox Vermillion added nine points and eight rebounds.
Carter Fay contributed six points, five rebounds, and two assists, while Cayden Brown scored six points.
Junior Varsity – North Union 42, Benjamin Logan 37
Caden Powell led the Raiders with 11 points. Owen Stratton added six.
Junior Varsity B – North Union 45, Benjamin Logan 35
Micah Gregg led the Raiders with nine points, and Carrick Spriggs scored six.
West Liberty-Salem 59, Northeastern 36
West Liberty-Salem continued its strong season Friday night with a 59–36 victory over Northeastern. The Tigers improve to 12–3 overall and 10–2 in the OHC.
The Tigers used a balanced scoring attack, led by Brevin Louden and Troy Christison with 13 points each. Sutton Wilcoxon added 11 points, Brandel Sullivan scored nine, and Carson Poppe finished with eight.
Beckett Sullivan added four points, and Elijah Christison scored one.
Junior Varsity A – West Liberty-Salem 53, Northeastern 31
Connor Leichty and Josiah Johnson led the Tigers with 12 points each. Tucker Searles added nine, while Asher Cole and Colton Neeld scored six apiece.
Junior Varsity B – West Liberty-Salem 51, Northeastern 23
Grant Krabill and Tyler Hershberger each scored 13 points. Austin Markin added 12.
West Liberty-Salem returns to action Tuesday, January 27, at home against Madison Plains.
Emmanuel Christian 60, Calvary Christian 29
Calvary Christian fell to Emmanuel Christian Friday night in conference action, losing 60–29.
Nehemiah Dillon led the Spartans with 12 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Evan Schmidt added six points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
Junior Varsity – Emmanuel Christian 36, Calvary Christian 21
Seth Palmer led the Spartans with seven points. Gavin Householder added six, and Cale Buchenroth finished with five.
Calvary Christian returns to action Saturday against Bradford in Bellefontaine.
