Recent Indian Lake High School graduate Avery Pequignot has earned one of the nation’s highest honors for a student-athlete, being selected to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American Team.
Only 74 boys soccer players from across the United States were selected for this prestigious honor. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA, excel on the soccer field, and demonstrate a strong commitment to community service.
Pequignot will be recognized at the United Soccer Coaches All-American Ceremony on Saturday, January 23, 2027, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Avery graduated with a 3.81 cumulative GPA after completing 20 semester hours of College Credit Plus (CCP) coursework. He was actively involved in Young Life, National Honor Society, Key Club, Science Club, Shop Club, 144 Youth Group, mentoring youth athletes, and worked part-time at Heirloom Cabinetry and Customs.
On the soccer field, Avery helped lead the Lakers to 36 wins during his four-year career, including a Central Buckeye Conference Championship in 2024. As a senior, he earned United States All Great Lakes Region Team and Division IV All-Ohio honors while finishing his career as the holder of six school records:

In addition to his soccer accomplishments, Avery earned All-Ohio honors in football and basketball during his senior year.
This fall, Avery will attend Ohio Northern University, where he will major in Construction Management, minor in Business Administration, and continue his athletic career as a member of the Polar Bears basketball team.
