It was a busy night on the hardwood across the area, with varsity and middle school teams wrapping up seasons and advancing in tournament play.
VARSITY GIRLS
Fairlawn 53, Riverside 31
Riverside closed out the regular season with a loss to Fairlawn. The Lady Pirates trailed 16–7 after the first quarter but rallied to pull within three at halftime, 25–22. Fairlawn pulled away in the second half to secure the win.
Maddie Lemly and Kenna Johnson led Riverside with nine points each. The Lady Pirates finish the season with a 4–18 record.
MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS — OHC NORTH SEMIFINAL
West Liberty-Salem 38, West Jefferson 25
West Liberty-Salem 8th-graders advanced to the OHC North Championship with a solid win over West Jefferson.
Liam Harrington led the Tigers with 12 points, followed by Foster King (8), Mason Wallace (7), and Mack Heminger (5). WL-S improves to 12–4 and will play Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Greenon for the conference title.
MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS — OHC SEMIFINAL
West Liberty-Salem 28, Fairbanks 18
The WL-S 7th grade boys earned a semifinal win on the road to advance to the championship game.
Greyson Leichty scored 19 points to lead the Tigers. West Liberty-Salem will face Northeastern Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Greenon.
MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS — CBC SEMIFINAL
London 44, Indian Lake 28
Indian Lake’s 8th grade boys saw their season end in the CBC semifinals. The Lakers fell behind early but continued to battle throughout the game.
Miller Hall led all scorers with 16 points. Mason Berg added 7, Brady Jackson had 3, and Colt Volbrecht scored 2. Indian Lake finishes the season at 13–5.
