Local girls’ basketball teams were in action Wednesday, February 18, competing in the OHSAA postseason tournaments with strong performances from the Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders and the Mechanicsburg Lady Indians. Both teams earned wins in tightly contested games, moving on to the next round of their respective tournaments.
Benjamin Logan 43, Dayton Dunbar 40
Troy High School — February 18, 2026
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders traveled to Troy to take on No. 7 Dunbar in the first round of the Division IV Southwest 2 tournament.
In a physical, back-and-forth contest, the Lady Raiders executed an effective offense and played tough team defense. Adilynne Gregg led the way with 13 points, while Kylie Harner and Daylin Varner contributed 8 points each. Molly Siefring and Rylan Norviel added 4 points apiece, Paislee Rodenberger scored 3, Joplin Schneider had 2, and Elliott Butler chipped in 1 point.

Benjamin Logan’s win sets up a second-round matchup against top-seeded Archbishop Alter on Tuesday, February 24, at 6:00 PM at Troy High School. Archbishop Alter advanced after a dominant 66–9 win over No. 17 Thurgood Marshall.
Mechanicsburg 45, Grandview Heights 40

The Mechanicsburg Lady Indians pulled off a narrow 45–40 win over No. 2 seed Grandview Heights in the first round of the Division VI Central tournament.
The Mechanicsburg Lady Indians pulled off a thrilling 45–40 win over No. 2 seed Grandview Heights in the first round of the Division VI Central 1 tournament.
The game started evenly, with both teams trading baskets through the first quarter and ending tied at 9. Grandview Heights took control in the second quarter, outscoring Mechanicsburg 10–7 to take a 19–16 lead at halftime.
Mechanicsburg came out strong in the third quarter, using key baskets and defensive stops to outscore Grandview Heights 14–9 and take a narrow 30–28 lead heading into the final period. The fourth quarter was a tense battle, but Mechanicsburg held on, finishing with a 45–40 victory.
Taylor Heizer led Mechanicsburg with 15 points, helping the team outscore its opponents in the second half and secure the victory.
Mechanicsburg will host No. 8 East Knox in their next game as they continue their pursuit of a postseason run.
