Benjamin Logan came out firing, jumping to a quick 6–0 lead in the opening minute and a half behind offensive rebounds and back-to-back three-pointers from Maddox Vermillion and Clayton Jenkins. The Raiders controlled the tempo through much of the first quarter, forcing tough shots with aggressive interior defense. Indian Lake trimmed the margin late, however, and trailed just 14–13 at the end of the opening frame.
The Lakers grabbed their first lead early in the second quarter on a breakaway basket by Cooper Hall following a steal from Avery Pequignot. Maddox Vermillion answered with another three, but Indian Lake responded behind Brodey Reisinger, as the teams traded baskets the rest of the half. Indian Lake carried a slim 27–26 advantage into the locker room.
Benjamin Logan wasted no time retaking the lead to open the third, as Vermillion buried a three just five seconds in to spark a 9–2 Raider run. Indian Lake answered with a 6–0 push led by Tyler Tidwell to tie the game at 35 midway through the quarter. Roman Maxwell then hit a three to ignite an 8–2 Benjamin Logan run, capped by yet another Vermillion triple. After a brief Lakers run, Maxwell drained a buzzer-beating three to send the Raiders into the fourth quarter up 46–42.
The momentum shifted quickly in the final period. Indian Lake’s Avery Pequignot knocked down a three to start a decisive run, scoring seven straight points as the Lakers seized control. Reisinger added key baskets as Indian Lake flipped the game and built a 55–48 lead. Benjamin Logan struggled offensively during a nearly five-minute scoring drought, and although Vermillion broke the run at the free-throw line, the Lakers held on down the stretch to secure the 61–54 win.
Indian Lake head coach Zach Overturf talks about his thoughts on the exciting contest:
Maddox Vermillion led all scorers with 28 points for the Raiders, adding four rebounds and a block. Roman Maxwell finished with 10 points and two assists, while Clayton Jenkins chipped in six points, two rebounds, and a block. Indian Lake was led by Brodey Reisinger with 19 points, Avery Pequignot with 18, and Tyler Tidwell with 10.
