Championship Sunday at the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament at the Jerome Schottenstein Center in Columbus is nearing its conclusion, as Session 4 has wrapped up and only the championship matches remain.

Earlier in the day, four local wrestlers battled in the consolation semifinals and placement rounds as competitors across Division II, Division III, and the Girls’ state tournament fought to secure spots on the podium. Several area wrestlers earned placement finishes, highlighted by Urbana’s Libertie Nigh claiming a third-place result after a runner-up finish last year.

Now, the focus shifts to the final matches of the tournament, where seven local wrestlers will compete for individual state championships Sunday evening. Five of those finalists represent the Graham Falcons, who also remain in position to capture their 25th consecutive state championship and 27th overall, a remarkable streak that dates back to 2001.
