A first-inning 2-run blast off the bat of Harrison Sutherin was all the West Liberty-Salem Tigers 12U team needed on Friday night at LEI Field. WL-S starting pitcher Caizen Anders threw a complete game gem to make Sutherin’s blast into the left field trees hold up in a 7-1 victory for the home Tigers.

Anders only needed 58 pitches to dispatch the visiting Union County Tigers 12U. He struck out 6, walked none, and yielded just 1 unearned run on 46 strikes. Anders also helped himself at the plate, drawing a leadoff walk before Sutherin’s home run, and he plated another run with an RBI single in the third inning.

WL-S also got a pair of hits from Greyson Leichty and an RBI single from Ozzy Anders, who got the call-up from the WL-S 10U team due to a couple of 4-H Camp absences.

WL-S is back in action on Sunday, traveling to West Jefferson to battle the Golden Gloves in an afternoon doubleheader.
