West Liberty-Salem senior multi-sport standout Brevin Louden has officially signed his letter of commitment to continue both his academic and athletic career at Heidelberg University, where he will compete in both basketball and track and field at the collegiate level.
Louden signed during a ceremony held in the West Liberty-Salem High School Media Center, surrounded by family, friends, teammates, and coaches. The event marked a special milestone in his journey, celebrating years of dedication, perseverance, and growth as a student-athlete. Supporters gathered to recognize not only his accomplishments, but also the work ethic and character that helped him reach this next step.

A true model of consistency and excellence, Louden has been a key contributor across three sports during his time at West Liberty-Salem, competing in cross country, basketball, and track and field. He has been part of eight Ohio Heritage Conference championship teams and seven district championship teams, while also contributing to multiple regional championship and runner-up finishes. He is also a three-time state participant, with more opportunities still ahead during his final track season.
On the basketball court, Louden has served as the motor for the Tigers, known for his strong ball-handling skills, high basketball IQ, and ability to knock down timely shots. His impact earned him First Team All-OHC honors during the 2025-26 season, along with Second Team recognition in 2023-24 and Honorable Mention in 2022-23.
In cross country, Louden has been a valuable piece of several successful teams, earning Second Team All-OHC honors in both 2022 and 2023. His contributions have helped the Tigers maintain a high level of success year after year.
During track and field season, Louden competes in the 200 and 400-meter dash events, where his speed and determination continue to make an impact. He earned honorable mention All-OHC honors in 2024 and looks to build on that success in his final season.
Beyond the accolades, Louden’s journey has also been defined by resilience. After suffering an ACL tear in January of 2025, he committed himself to the recovery process and worked tirelessly to return to competition. His ability to overcome adversity stands as a testament to his determination, perseverance, and commitment to his team.
In the classroom, Louden plans to pursue a double major in finance and business administration at Heidelberg University, with a minor in Spanish and/or coaching. Louden speaks on what made him choose Heidelberg.
Throughout his high school career, Louden has embodied what it means to be a student-athlete, combining athletic success with academic achievement while demonstrating leadership, intelligence, and attention to detail. His presence has been instrumental in the success of multiple Tiger programs.
West Liberty-Salem is proud of Brevin’s accomplishments and grateful for the impact he has made across all sports. The school community looks forward to following his continued success at Heidelberg University as he begins this exciting new chapter.
