Bellefontaine Police responded to a call Saturday night, just before midnight, for a suspected stolen vehicle.
When police arrived at the home on East Lake Avenue they were greeted by the boy’s mother who said she just saw her son sneak back into the house through his bedroom window.
Police then spoke with Christopher Eley who admitted to taking the car and dropping off a friend at the bowling alley.
The mother said this was the second or third time he had gotten a hold of an extra key to the vehicle and taken it.
The owner of the vehicle (the boy’s father) refused to press criminal charges and said he preferred to handle his son’s discipline “in-house”.
Christopher Eley was given a charge of driving without a license and will appear in Logan County Juvenile Court at a later date.
