The 20th Annual Love Dinner will be served at the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine on Thanksgiving Day. Meal coordinator Sharon Walden said this year, things will be “back to normal,” after Covid restrictions for the last two years. The meal will be served from noon to 3:00 pm at the church, located at 201 N. Main Street in Bellefontaine, and will offer in-person dining at the church and deliveries to Logan County residents only. There will be no drive-thru service available.
The church will be serving a complete meal, featuring turkey or roast beef, stuffing, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and rolls. In addition, different pies will be offered for dessert. There is no charge for the meal, but donations will be gladly accepted.
Walden said last year the church served 745 meals that were picked up or delivered. This year, they are planning on serving 800 meals. The entire meal is cooked by volunteers at the church. All of the food is donated by members of the church and the community. Last year, over 80 individuals volunteered in one manner or another. This year, Walden said, more volunteers are needed.
