Monday night, the Indian Lake Board of Education learned about a new scholarship opportunity exclusive to their district and made plans to continue in the OFCC program.
During their regular November meeting on Monday, Board members approved a resolution for the district to extend participation in the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission’s Expedited Local Partnership Program.
Superintendent Dr. Rob Underwood explains.
“Really what this is just a continuation of the master planning process and it goes all the way back to the building of the elementary school and bringing all three buildings onto one campus here at Indian Lake. This will allow us to engage in an enrollment projection study through the State of Ohio to give us a footprint of where we’re headed so that we can make building decisions down the road.”

The board also accepted multiple grants and donations to support district programs.
These included:
- $1,689 from the Mary Rutan Foundation
- Grants from the Logan County Education Foundation totaling $5,070
- $200 from the Northlake Estates Condominium Association at Turkey Foot to the Student Needs Fund in memory of Robert Carlson
- $115 from the Women of the Moose and $100 from an anonymous donor to the School Lunch Program
- $5,000 from the Amvets to the Charitable/Gaming Donation Fund
- $11,886 from the Hansen Family to the Dennis Hansen Memorial Scholarship
- $3,000 from the Beatley Family to the Track Program
Personnel actions included approval of the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center substitute teacher and educational assistant list, along with additional classified substitutes.
These were Dave Coburn as a bus driver effective November 11, 2025, Lauren Hilty as a secretary effective November 17, 2025, Austin Onyema as a custodian, and Brenice Ward in food service.
The board accepted the resignation of Jason Fauley as Middle School Pep Band Advisor.
For the 2025-2026 school year, supplemental contracts were approved, including an amended Jazz Band contract split 50/50 between Jason Fauley and Morissa Sweeney.
Kassandera Crockett was approved as Drama Director/Musical.

In addition, Lois Stoll from the Logan County Education Foundation presented information pertaining to the newly-created Indian Lake Legacy Scholarship.
She explained that many families and individuals are willing to help fund scholarships, but many lack the large sum needed to initiate a scholarship fund on their own.
The Indian Lake Legacy Scholarship sets up a scholarship fund that can accept any size donation to go toward the scholarship.
Gifts can be named or anonymous.

The Indian Lake Board of Education will meet again on Monday, December 15th, at 6:30. pm in the board office for their final regular meeting of 2025.
