The sweet taste of spring is back as the 39th Annual Maple Syrup Festival returns to the Indian Lake State Park Campground on Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22.
The popular two-day festival features pancake and sausage breakfasts, fresh maple syrup sales, craft vendors, and a wide variety of family-friendly activities.
Visitors can enjoy free children’s games and programs, face painting, live music, and even trackless train rides throughout the weekend.
Event volunteer, David Goff, talks about the event:
Saturday’s festivities run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning with breakfast and the opening of honey and maple craft vendors, RV campers, and children’s games.
Live entertainment includes Neal & Emmy performing acoustic guitar from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by the Mad River Valley Dulcimer Society from noon to 2 p.m.
Additional Saturday activities include maple syrup demonstrations at the Sugar Shack starting at 9 a.m., a children’s dinosaur dig program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., trackless train rides beginning at 9:30 a.m., and face painting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday’s schedule runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with breakfast, vendors, and children’s games opening at 8 a.m.
Maple syrup demonstrations continue at 9 a.m., along with face painting from 9 a.m. to noon and the dinosaur dig program from 10 a.m. to noon.
Acoustic guitarist Dianne Hart will perform from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Organizers say the festival celebrates the region’s maple syrup heritage while offering an educational and fun experience for all ages.
The event also serves as a fundraiser supporting Indian Lake area beautification and development, and is hosted by the Indian Lake Development Corporation in partnership with Indian Lake State Park.
