A Country Christmas is worth a visit

With the holiday season in full swing, there is a gem in our backyard that is worthy of a visit for the whole family. Each year, Marmon Valley Farm hosts A Country Christmas. The website (marmonvalley.com) describes A Country Christmas as “a heartwarming Christmas event that captures the true Christmas spirit!”

Guests will experience a hayride wagon tour that depicts five events from the birth of Jesus. You’ll see Mary and Joseph as they travel to  Bethlehem, and witness the shepherds receiving the angelic announcement of the birth of Jesus, and finally, the child in the manger. Each mini-drama is acted out by local children and young adults.

Tours are 45 minutes and depart every 15 minutes. The wagons are also equipped with covers in case of inclement weather. After the tour, cookies and hot chocolate will help chase the chill away and live music will put you in the Christmas spirit. For the kids, there is a petting zoo, crafts, playground areas, and pony rides.

If you’re looking for a simple yet vivid reminder of the Reason for the season, you need to experience A Country Christmas. The program is held the first two weeks of December each year, with the final tours of this season tomorrow and Sunday.

Advanced tickets can be purchased on the website and are $14 per person, at the door are $16.
