For 60 years, the West Liberty Lions Club has hosted a Labor Day Festival at Lions Park. This year, club President Jake Vitt said the festival will be bigger and better than before.
Beginning with the annual Classic Car Cruise-In on Friday at 4 PM, the park will host events for all ages as the summer officially winds down.
Vitt said that one of the staples of the festival, the antique equipment show, is still a major draw, but for the last few years, the emphasis has been on bringing in activities designed for the entire family, especially the younger generations, to keep them coming back for years to come:
Vitt said there will be sporting events all weekend, and a new feature will be available: 9-square. In addition to the 9-square, there will be a 3-0n-3 Basketball tournament, a slow-pitch softball tournament, a miniature football field, and the Liberty Spirit 3-Miler.
