Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Chad Taylor, 38, of Ada, on Tuesday during a traffic stop that revealed drug paraphernalia.
Deputies noticed Taylor driving north on State Route 235 with a loud exhaust. They pulled him over on Township Road 93 and found that he seemed anxious and spoke quickly.
A background check showed that Taylor had several outstanding warrants from Hardin County. He was detained and placed in the back of a patrol car.
When deputies asked if there were any illegal items in his vehicle, Taylor denied it but was hesitant about letting them search. After some conversation, he agreed to the search.
Deputies first found a black case with a significant amount of cash inside. They then discovered a jar of marijuana in a backpack on the passenger seat and a small black bag containing a glass pipe with white residue, often linked to methamphetamine, between the driver’s seat and the center console.
When asked about the pipe, Taylor said it belonged to a friend named “Mark” and that he planned to throw it away. However, deputies noted that the pipe was easily within his reach.
Taylor was taken to the Logan County Jail, where he faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and is held on his outstanding warrants.
