Late Saturday night, Bellefontaine Police saw a vehicle sitting behind the movie theater, running and not properly parked.
When officers approached the driver, later identified as Amy Anderson, 55, of Bellefontaine, she was slumped over and asleep.
After several attempts to wake her, Anderson woke up and attempted to speak to officers.
Her speech was thick and slurred, causing officers not to understand what she was saying.
Mid-sentence, Anderson passed out.
Officers attempted to wake her again, and after several tries, she tried to speak to officers.
Again, her speech was unintelligible, and she passed out mid-sentence.
This pattern of behavior happened several times.
Bellefontaine EMS was called to the scene.
Anderson was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment after she was able to tell officers that she had taken a prescription drug.
She was cited with two counts of OVI and given a seatbelt violation.
Anderson has prior convictions of OVI in 1994, and 2007, and two in 2017.
