Justin Ashford has been a valued member of the Walmart team since July 2021, working about 20 hours a week in the apparel department.
He helps organize returns, update displays, change end caps, and manage seasonal clothing transitions.
Justin’s willingness to learn has made him a go-to team member.
He recently started answering the phone in the apparel department and often helps co-workers with handheld scanners—a skill that usually takes months to master.
When asked what he enjoys most about Walmart, Justin said,
“I like that the other employees appreciate my hard work and are willing to help when I need it.”
His biggest challenge has been keeping up with daily changes, but he is proud of maintaining steady employment over the past four years.
Looking ahead, he hopes to learn the cash register and explore other departments.
This story is part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), highlighting the contributions of workers with disabilities and promoting inclusive workplaces.
