“It is up to you to keep your dog healthy, happy, and safe,” says Logan County Auditor Jack Reser.
He encourages residents to take their dogs to a veterinarian for vaccinations and checkups, consider spaying or neutering, provide daily exercise, feed a balanced diet, and, importantly, license their dogs.
Licensing not only follows the law but also ensures a quick return home if a pet gets lost.
Anyone who finds a lost dog is asked to call (937) 599-7209.
All dogs three months and older in Logan County are required to have a current tag by January 31, 2026.
Tags purchased after that date will include a late fee, doubling the standard price.
The proceeds from the dog tag sales support the new Logan County Animal Shelter:
Tag Prices
- Single year: $20
- 3-year tag: $60
- Permanent tag: $200
- Kennel tag (5 tags): $120
In 2025, 4,500 single-year tags, 100 three-year tags, 30 permanent tags, and 40 kennel tags were sold.

Dog owners can purchase tags by mail by sending the following information for each dog: age, breed, color(s), hair length, and sex—along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to:
