Lance Bailey, 34, of Bellefontaine, was charged with discharging firearms, aggravated menacing, and assault on Friday.

Bellefontaine Police were called to a fight within the city.

When they arrived on the scene, they saw a group of people near the intersection of West Brown Avenue and North Detroit Street.

A victim stated that a man in a nearby home had fired a gun at the group.

Officers saw several shots had been fired at a nearby stop sign, that appeared to have been made by a BB/Pellet gun.

Another victim claimed they had been shot by Bailey.

Bailey told officers that he had fired the weapon, a break action pellet rifle, at the stop sign to get the people that had gathered near his home to leave.

He was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
