Bellefontaine City Schools hosted the Spring Choir Concert in the BHS Auditorium earlier this week.
The 6th Grade Choir, 7th Grade Choir, 8th Grade Choir, BHS Concert Choir, and BHS Symphonic Choir each performed.
Special awards were presented to each choir:
6th Grade
- Most Improved: Fenix Resch, Lariah Valencia, Emma Layman, Charity Sanders, and Tamlyn Price
- Outstanding Musician: Emma Smith, Zeri Sayre, Aaron Hughes, Layla Sellers, and Viana Arruza
7th Grade
- Most Improved: Laney Wallace, Marissa Oaks, Karly Holtkamp, Emi Henry, and Savannah Goff
- Outstanding Musician: Cardyn Rawlins, Kieara Sayre, Nat Kuhns, Bella Napoles, and Naomi Dearwester
8th Grade
- Most Improved: Allie Wage, Nahla Arruza, Alejandra Mergote-Quintero, Caleb Hudson, and Evan Eaton
- Outstanding Musician: Elsie Welch, Annie Gallaway, Alexis Hogan, Leo Reser-Stanford, and Kara Millis
8th Grade Choir Award: Eva Wilson
BHS Concert Choir
- Most Improved: Harmoni Johnson, Amanda Delgado Rengel, Rylee Anderson, Justus DeMatteo, and Emma Justin
- Outstanding Musician: Mahayla Warner, Haileigh Hoffman, Ella Vilaysane, Zeke Finch, and Hailey Coe
BHS Symphonic Choir
- Most Improved: Alex Sandoval, Antonio Avalos Mendez, Emma Merrin, and Caitlin Haley
- Outstanding Musician: Constance Carmen, Mason Swisher, Zoe Jervis, Ava Kunze, and Olivia Dearwester
- Director Award: Thessaly Reminder and Elliett Lang
- National Choral Award: Haidyn Bruce
The BHS senior choir members are Haidyn Bruce, Jordyn Campbell, Amanda Delgado Rengel, Cass DeLong, River Garrett, Isabelle Gunnett, Caitlin Haley, Mia Hammond, Ava Kunze, Elliett Lang, Jas Maier, Emma Merrin, Thessaly Reminder, Kayla Sellars, Callie Shumaker, Emma Suman, and Mason Swisher.
There are 193 choir members in grades 6-12.

The BHS Symphonic Choir earned a Superior rating at the OMEA District Contest last month.
The choir will perform at the OMEA State Contest at Tipp City High School on Friday, May 1st, at 5:40 p.m.
The BMS and BHS choirs will be featured at the Fine Arts Festival at BHS on May 13th.
