The halls of Bellefontaine Middle School were buzzing with excitement this weekend as BCS Robotics hosted the inaugural “King of the Hill” Robotics Qualifier, drawing 68 teams from across the state.

The event featured 45 high school teams and 23 middle school teams, each competing in their own divisions for a chance to advance to the next level of competition.

The qualifier brought together hundreds of students, coaches, and families for a full day of engineering, strategy, and spirited teamwork.

Teams competed in fast-paced matches requiring robots to complete a variety of precision-based tasks, all while demonstrating problem-solving, adaptability, and programming skill.

BCS Robotics volunteers and staff coordinated the event, ensuring smooth match flow, timely inspections, and a supportive environment for both new and returning teams.

The energy remained high throughout the day as matches grew more intense and rankings shifted with each round.

For many students, the event was not only a competitive challenge but also an opportunity to connect with other young engineers and celebrate the growing robotics community in the region.

Coaches praised the sportsmanship and collaboration displayed across both divisions.
