Bellefontaine Police arrested a man early Sunday morning after an issue in the Walmart parking lot.
Shortly after midnight, officers patrolling Gunntown Road saw a man next to a white pickup truck parked and appeared to be angrily stomping on objects on the ground.
The man, later identified as 19-year-old Logan Grubbs, of Marysville, showed several signs of intoxication.
Police learned from another man at the scene, Carter Dawson, 18, of Lakeview, that Grubbs was upset after being cut off on the road and forced into a ditch.
As officers spoke to Grubbs, they could smell alcoholic beverages and saw two smashed beer cans near the truck.
Grubbs admitted to drinking earlier in the night and driving to Walmart.
Failed field sobriety tests and a breath test of 0.118 confirmed his intoxication.
A search of the truck turned up unopened cases of beer and evidence suggesting it had been driven through a soybean field.
Grubbs eventually admitted to going off-road into a bean field before returning to the roadway.
He was arrested for OVI, cited for underage drinking, and got an additional probation violation charge.
Grubbs was transported to the Logan County Jail.
