A Belle Center man was arrested for OVI and possibly other charges following an injury accident.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a three-vehicle injury accident in the area of the 4900 block of County Road 130 Saturday evening around 7:30.

Larry Myers, 56, was driving a Honda Civic behind a Ford Focus and attempted to pass but did not see an oncoming Honda Accord traveling northbound. Myers cut in front and clipped the Ford Focus. Myers slid off the roadway to the west and into a field. The Ford Focus went left of center and struck the Honda Accord head-on.

Upon arrival, authorities observed the Honda Accord on its top in the ditch, the Honda Civic sitting in the northbound lane facing south, and the Ford Focus south off the west side of the road in a field.

Authorities observed an open container of Bud Light sitting behind the passenger seat in his vehicle.

Inside the EMS, where Myers was being treated, had an odor of an alcoholic beverage.

When asked if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages prior to driving, Myers said he had “a couple.”

He was transported to the Mary Rutan Hospital.

Myers was cited for OVI. Another citation for OVI for being over the legal limit may be charged pending test results.

All the vehicles suffered heavy damage and the two other drivers, Taya Outram and Duane Collins were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for injuries.

Further investigation is pending.
