A pedestrian was struck in the roadway outside of Belle Center Thursday afternoon.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports that Micah Burkholder, 34, of Rushsylvania, was southbound on County Road 104 when he saw a mother and a child standing at the end of a driveway.
The child then ran into the road, and the mother ran to get them.
Burkholder struck the mother, Rachael Richards, 34, of Belle Center.
She was transported by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
The Multi-County Crash Team responded to the scene and an investigation is ongoing.
