Service-Safety Director Wes Dodds says the first round of pickup will run through November 6, covering all four sections of the city.
The schedule is as follows:
- October 26 through 28: North of Columbus Avenue and east of Main Street.
- October 29, 30, and November 2: South of Columbus Avenue and east of Main Street.
- November 3 and 4: South of Columbus Avenue and west of Main Street.
- November 5 and 6: North of Columbus Avenue and west of Main Street.
A second round of pickup is tentatively scheduled to begin November 9.
The northeast section will be served November 9, 10, and 12, followed by the southeast section November 13, 16, and 17.
Pickup in the southwest section is scheduled for November 18 and 19, with the northwest section scheduled for November 20 and 23.
During the week of October 19, the Street Department will collect leaves on an on-call basis.
Residents can email [email protected] or call (937) 592-1736 to request pickup.
Residents should place leaves in the boulevard or as close to the street as possible, but not in the street or on the sidewalk.
Vehicles should not be parked in front of leaf piles, and the city will not accept bagged leaves or pick up branches, brush, or trash with its leaf collection equipment.
The city also reminds residents that regular refuse collection cannot pick up leaves or other yard waste.
Under city ordinance, grass clippings, shrub trimmings, flowers, and other materials cannot be placed on streets or alleys where they could wash into or clog storm sewers.
