The following is a press release from the City of Bellefontaine:
The City of Bellefontaine invites residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to attend a public open house to review and discuss the City’s Strategic Land Use Plan, developed over the past 18 months.
The open house will be held on Tuesday, April 28th, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM in Council Chambers at the City of Bellefontaine Municipal Building, located at 135 N. Detroit St., Bellefontaine, OH 43311. This informal session is designed to give the public an opportunity to review the plan in detail, ask questions, and speak directly with City staff and planning partners.
Immediately following the open house, the Bellefontaine City Council will hold a public hearing at 6:30 PM to receive formal public comments.
The Strategic Land Use Plan is a guiding document—not a final set of decisions—intended to help the City plan responsibly for future growth. It reflects technical analysis, infrastructure capacity, and community input gathered throughout the process. Just as importantly, this stage of the process is about ensuring the plan aligns with the expectations and priorities of Bellefontaine residents.
City officials emphasize that no final action has been taken, and public feedback at this stage will play an important role in shaping the final version of the plan.
“As our community continues to grow, it’s important that we take the time to evaluate where we’re headed and make thoughtful, fiscally responsible decisions,” said Wes Dodds Service-Safety Director. “This open house and public hearing are about making sure we’ve heard from the community and are moving forward with a plan that reflects Bellefontaine’s values.”
Residents are encouraged to attend at any time during the open house hours. Those wishing to provide formal comments for the record are encouraged to attend the public hearing.
