According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, a 53-year-old driver, Kevin Deet, was involved in a collision with a pedestrian at the intersection of Powell Avenue and North Main Street on Wednesday afternoon.
Deet, who is from Bellefontaine, had stopped at the intersection and, when proceeding forward, failed to notice a 15-year-old girl who was crossing the street in the crosswalk.
As a result, his vehicle struck the girl.
The teenager was quickly transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for evaluation, though authorities report her injuries are suspected to be minor.
Deet was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
