According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, just before 2:30 p.m., 24-year-old Noah Flohre of Urbana was driving the fire truck north on North West Street, approaching Garfield Avenue with lights and sirens activated.

Police say Flohre failed to enter the intersection with proper caution and collided with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 25-year-old James Austin of Rushsylvania.

Minor damage was reported to both the fire truck and the pickup.
