The City of Bellefontaine will begin its first scheduled leaf pickup of the 2025 season on October 20–22, targeting neighborhoods north of Columbus Avenue and east of Main Street.
City officials remind residents of important guidelines to ensure smooth collection:
- Leaves should be placed in the boulevard or near the street, but not in the roadway or on sidewalks.
- Vehicles should not block leaf piles to allow crews to access them.
- Only loose leaves will be collected—bags, branches, and other trash will not be picked up.
- Refuse collection will not accept yard waste during this pickup.
Residents should also be aware that City Ordinance 521.12 prohibits placing yard debris in streets or alleys, and violations may result in fines.
