The Bellefontaine Lions Club is helping local families take an important step toward protecting their children’s vision.
The organization is hosting a free eye screening event this Friday for children ages 3 to 6.
The screening will take place at the Logan County Friendly Senior Center, located at 934 South Main Street in Bellefontaine, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The no-cost screening is designed to identify potential vision problems early, giving families the opportunity to seek further care if needed.
Early detection can play a critical role in a child’s development, helping to prevent learning difficulties and other challenges linked to untreated vision issues.
The Bellefontaine Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, a global service organization known for its longstanding commitment to vision care.
Since its founding in 1917, the Lions Club has made eye health one of its primary missions, working to prevent blindness and improve eye health through screenings, education, and support for those in need.
Their efforts include providing vision services, assisting with access to glasses and medical care, and supporting research and treatment programs worldwide.
Locally, the Bellefontaine Lions Club continues that mission by offering programs like this free screening, aimed at ensuring children in the community have the healthy vision they need to succeed.
No appointment is required for Friday’s event.
