According to Bellefontaine Police, a man was arrested on Friday afternoon after being spotted stumbling on State Route 540 near the Route 33 overpass.
Officers say they were called shortly before 12:30 PM to help a man who appeared intoxicated and was walking along the road.
The man, later identified as Charles Martin, 39, of Ridgeway, was reportedly swaying and had a hard time keeping his balance.
Police noticed that Martin’s speech was slurred and that he showed several signs of impairment.
He initially denied drinking alcohol, but reportedly admitted to using marijuana earlier in the day.
When officers offered to contact someone to pick him up, Martin declined and stated he would rather go to jail.
He was arrested without incident and transported to Logan County Jail, where he was charged with disorderly conduct.
