Bellefontaine man arrested for domestic violence and assault at the Pink House

The Bellefontaine Police Department was dispatched to the Pink House, 600 Jay Avenue, in reference to a report of a domestic dispute Sunday morning around 2:30.

While officers were en route, dispatch advised an assault did occur.

A witness said a male, later identified as Derric Williams Sr., 35, struck the female victim, knocking her down in the street, then grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back into the grass area.

Dispatch also advised the witness stated Williams was attempting to get the female victim to leave with him.

Another witness stated Williams was yelling at the female victim and struck her in the face, knocking her down into the street. Witnesses also stated Williams grabbed the victim’s hair and dragged her from the street up onto the sidewalk and then into the grass where he struck her in the face again.

The victim’s face was swollen on both sides, particularly the eyes, with apparent injuries.

Williams was arrested and charged with domestic violence and assault.

He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
