A Bellefontaine man was arrested on two felony counts of possession of drugs, probation, and suspended driving privileges.

The Bellefontaine Police Department observed Ryan Harrigan at Speedway on South Main Street Tuesday around 5 o’clock.

Authorities were familiar with Harrigan from previous incidents and knew that he did not have a valid driver’s license. Authorities were also aware that there was a verbal probation violation out for him.

A traffic stop was initiated. Police informed Harrigan the reason for the stop was due to him having a suspended driver’s license.

He stated that he had driving privileges to and from work during certain times of the day. Harrigan then admitted that he was driving outside of his driving privileges because he was supposed to be at work at 3:30.

Harrigan was placed under arrest. He said that he didn’t have anything illegal on him or in the vehicle and gave officers permission to search him.

They did not find anything illegal on his person.

Harrigan stated that there were some pipes and scales in the trunk and that they belonged to a female that he recently stayed with.

During the search, police found three pipes used for illegal drugs, chore boy, and two small baggies concealed in the center console.

Officials observed one of the bags contained a crystal-like substance that was consistent with methamphetamine and the other bag had a white powdery substance that was consistent with cocaine.

A black safe was found that contained multiple drug paraphernalia items, as well as a variety of pills.

Harrigan was transported to the Logan County Jail and lodged on a probation violation, two felony counts of possession of drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The suspected meth and cocaine were tested and both were positive.
