Officers were aware that Johnson had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest for rape.

A felony stop was conducted, and Johnson was taken into custody without incident.

When officers asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, he admitted there was a gun inside his book bag.

A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Springfield XD-45 caliber handgun in the rear seat along with a second loaded magazine.

Police also located a bag of marijuana in the center console.

Nothing else illegal was located in the vehicle.

Johnson was transported to the Logan County Jail.

He was charged with rape (felony warrant), having weapons under disability, and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
