Bellefontaine Police pulled over a vehicle Thursday afternoon when they recognized the driver as one who did not have a proper license.
Police say they spotted 48-year-old Edwin Ford driving eastbound on Ludlow Road and initiated a traffic stop on County Road 10 near Township Road 179.
When questioned about his driving without a license, Ford said the power steering in the vehicle was recently broken and he was driving for the owner who felt uncomfortable driving it to Columbus.
Both Ford and the owner of the vehicle consented to a vehicle search during which officers found a used methamphetamine pipe in a white sock under the driver’s seat where Ford was sitting.
Ford was transported to Logan County Jail and lodged on possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for driving without a valid license.
