Bellefontaine Mayor Swears in New Fire Personnel

Bellefontaine Mayor Ben Stahler swore in two city employees Tuesday Evening.

Jaron M. Kelly, of Sidney, was sworn in as Bellefontaine’s newest firefighter.

He has his Firefighter I and II Certifications and is a certified EMT.

Kelly was working part-time as a Wapakoneta firefighter and will begin later this week.

Benjamin Kennedy has been a Bellefontaine Firefighter for 23 years and was promoted this evening to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief Tuesday.

“With the announcement of one of our Assistant Fire Chiefs retiring in early 2024, we thankfully could turn to Ben to take on this role. He’s a well-respected member of our First Responder Team as well as our community.” -Mayor Stahler
